Do Not Ignore Insurance In Your Financial Planning

By | Bill Arowood, Madison insurance Group | No Comments

In a recent USA Today article, it was stated that many are under insured when it comes to disability insurance and not enough Americans are considering life insurance as a part of their long term financial planning.

Our agency has for a long-time had the approach that insurance is key in any person’s financial planning. This expands beyond just asset protection to include protecting income and even some products that may provide a return.

When you are conducting your annual review of financial plans, be sure to include your insurance agent. Planning for your future is more than wealth building. It is also about having a sound strategy for protecting your assets and ability to continue to build wealth.

Insurance Guidelines for Car Sharing Proposed

By | Appalachian Underwriters | No Comments

Car sharing associations continue to be a growing trend and the practice creates challenges for the insurance industry. One organization in San Francisco is proposing a liability insurance guideline for car sharing.

CarSharing Association release this draft this month which urges the car sharing organizations to provide liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 per incident coverage per member. Additionally, the draft recommends that members should be given the option of purchasing liability insurance beyond the minimum.

The draft guideline is open for public comment at www.carsharing.org/forums until December 31 and a final version will be issued before the end of January 2014.
